Strategic Reserve
Definition
A controversial Clausewitzian concept. In the tactical domain, reserves are essential — the commander must hold force for the unforeseen. In the strategic domain, Clausewitz argues the reserve is suspect: any force held back at the decisive moment is a force wasted. Decisive battle should commit everything.
