The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office is the Defense Department’s headquarters organization for data, analytics, and artificial intelligence. It was created in 2022 by consolidating the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, the Defense Digital Service, the Chief Data Officer, and the Advana data platform into a single office. It sets department-wide policy for AI adoption and runs the enterprise data and analytics services that the rest of the department builds on.
