Office of Naval Research

ONR coordinates, executes, and promotes science and technology for the Navy and Marine Corps. It funds the full range from basic research at universities to applied prototyping, and it is the parent of the Naval Research Laboratory. Most Navy technology that eventually becomes a program of record passes through ONR funding first.
