The USSOCOM science and technology directorate funds early development of capability unique to special operations. It runs the command’s S&T portfolio and its small business innovation research work, maturing technology to the point where a program executive office inside SOF_AT_L can pick it up. It is the usual first stop for a company with a new idea and no SOCOM history.
