United States Army Pacific
USARPAC is the theater army for USINDOPACOM and the Army’s largest overseas-oriented service component. The Army_Transformation_Initiative gave it I_Corps and, through I Corps, the 4th_Infantry_Division - a deliberate weighting of Army combat power toward the Pacific. It is the Army command that owns the pacing-threat problem.

Mission
USARPAC provides Army forces to USINDOPACOM, sets the theater for land operations across the Indo-Pacific, and exercises Title_10_USC administrative control of Army units in the region. Its distinctive problems are distance, dispersion, and contested logistics: the theater is mostly water, forward bases are within range of adversary fires, and sustainment cannot be assumed.
Its operational concepts center on theater-setting, campaigning below armed conflict through exercises and partner engagement, and providing land-based joint fires and sensing under Multi_Domain_Operations.

Why it matters
The Pacific is where the Army has to justify its relevance, so it is where the Army spends to prove it. Long-range precision fires, hypersonics, land-based anti-ship capability, and integrated air and missile defense all have their operational rationale in this theater. The Multi-Domain_Task_Force formations under USARPAC are the intended employers of Dark_Eagle (Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon) and Typhon (Mid-Range Capability), managed by PAE_Fires and CPE_Offensive_Fires.
Contested logistics is a funded problem set. Watercraft, expeditionary port and beach throughput, distributed fuel and water, autonomous resupply, and pre-positioned stocks in the first and second island chains are active requirements. CPE_Combat_Logistics and AMC own the acquisition; USARPAC owns the demand.
Communications and PNT in a denied environment. Long-haul, low-probability-of-intercept communications, alternative PNT when GPS is jammed, and resilient tactical networks are theater-driven requirements that surface here first.
Exercise programs are contracting programs. Pacific Pathways, Talisman Sabre, Balikatan, Garuda Shield, and Orient Shield generate recurring logistics, transportation, base support, and interpreter/services contracts, plus a stream of operational demonstrations that vendors use as validation events.
Infrastructure spend is large and growing. Guam, the Marianas, the Philippines EDCA sites, and Australian facilities involve USACE Pacific Ocean Division military construction at scale.
